KABUL, Afghanistan (Aljazeera) — Taliban killed an Afghan airforce pilot in the Kabul bomb attack on Saturday. A bomb was placed in Hamidullah’s vehicle that killed Pilot Hamidullah Azim and injured seven civilians. The Pilot had been trained to operate US-made assault helicopters. He served with the Afghan air force for at least four years, commander, Abdul Fatah Eshaqzai said in a detailed briefing.
Assanited pilot was relocated to Kabul with his family a year ago owing to security concerns, according to the Afghan air force. In a statement, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack.
