The Taliban have banned the co-education system in Afghanistan’s Herat province.
Women in Afghanistan will have freedom within the Islamic law, the Zabihullah mujahid assured the world last week. Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban further said last week in the press conference that women can enjoy freedom as per Islam law. In addition, he stated that Burqa is not compulsory for women but they must cover the head and body.
In the recent statement, the Taliban have completely banned co-education in government and private institutions in Herat. After meeting with colleges and universities officials Taliban initialized a ban on Co-education, Khaama Press News Agency reported yesterday. Islam does not encourage a co-education system. Taliban defined co-education as a basic source of sin, Obscenely and harassment. He argued that women teachers are only permitted to teach women students, not men, and men teachers are only allowed to teach male students.
