Infamous Pakistani Islamic State leader has reportedly been killed in Afghanistan, Pakistan observer news agency reported. Farooq Bangalzai, well known Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant leader was killed in Afghanistan on Friday in a standoff with the Taliban. Taliban hunted down him in Afghanistan’s Zaranj Nimroz area on Friday. Farooq Bangalzai former leader of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi was required to Balochistan police in criminal cases. He was involved in bomb and gun attacks on military and paramilitary forces in Balochistan. Counter-Terrorism Department(CTD)of Punjab had also arrested 3 Islamic state terrorists in Lahore on Friday. As per CTD initial investigation report, arrested terrorists were wanted to target mosques, Churches, and other sacred places in Lahore.
Mullah Neda Mohammad, governor of Nangarhar province had also pledged to hunt down Islamic State terrorists in Afghanistan. Taliban have killed several high-ranked Islamic State Khorasan(ISIS-K) since August 2021. Commanders of ISIS-K have criticized the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in the latest statement. Sheikh Omar Khorasani, the head of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – Khorasan Province, was executed by the Taliban in Puli-Charkhi prison last month. On September 5, the Taliban had killed Shaikh Obaidullah Motawekul in Kabul. Shaikh Obaidullah was a high-profile ISIS-K leader, arrested during the last government.
