Sept:15 (PNB News). Iran resumed business visits to Afghanistan on Wednesday, where the Taliban took power last month.
Today Iran’s Mahan Airlines transported people from Mashhad to Kabul. It was the first such travel between the two countries since the Taliban took control of the country the previous month.
Last month the Iranian common flying agency announced that flights to Kabul will be halted for security concerns. Mahan Air had formerly operated two flights per week between Mashhad and Kabul. Mahan Air is Iran’s second-largest airline after the state-run Iran Air. Mahan Air has been targeted and blacklisted by many organizations due to the US sanctions for a decade. Mahan Airlines, often known as Mahan Air, is a privately-owned Iranian airline headquartered in Tehran. It offers internal flights as well as international flights to the Far East, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe. According to new UN data, Iran has been housing approximately 4.5 million Afghans on a humanitarian basis.
