Ex-Iranian Military Chief Succumbed To Coronavirus

Tehran (PNB News) -Military counselor to Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and Iran's previous Chief of the army staff, passed away on Friday. According to Iran media, 70 years old Major General Firouzabadi succumbed to Coronavirus disease. Major General Firouzabadi served as a member of the Expediency Discernment Council. From 1989 until 2016, he remained the Chief-of-Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces. After 1979 he was the first Iranian military officer to be promoted to the position of Major General.
