HQ-9 (PNB News). As per the ISPR statement, Pakistani COAS, Qamar Javed Bajwa stated on Thursday that Pakistan and China’s strategic cooperation and defense coordination is a factor of regional stability. His statement came after receiving one of the most sophisticated surface-to-air missiles systems. The HQ-9 is a medium- to long-range surface-to-air missile with active radar homing.
The HQ-9 uses HT-233 PESA radar system, which is similar in capabilities to the Russian S-300 and American Patriot systems. For greater precision, it also has modern electrical equipment and software. Range of operation: 200 kilometers (FD-2000 version) 250 kilometers (HQ-9A version). The HQ-9B variant has a range of around 300 kilometers. Pakistan’s air defense has become more substantial after getting an advanced air defense system. COAS, general Bajwa underlined the importance of HQ-9, he said that now we have the answer to any emerging threat. India has given Russia an advance payment of $800 million and is expected to get the first batch of S-400 in late 2021.
