Sierra Leone, Freetown (PNB News). Officials say a fuel tanker exploded in Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown, killing at least 99 people and injuring more than 100. A violent scene began when a truck rammed into an oil tanker caused a massive blast in Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown, on Friday. On Saturday morning, fuel appeared to spill from the truck as police and military endeavored to get the road free from bystanders. According to media reports, the death toll has risen to 99, with more than 100 injured being treated at medical facilities in the capital city of Sierra Leone.

” We have such countless casualties, burned bodies,” said Brima Bureh Sesay, the National Disaster Management Agency’s executive during the live broadcasting. A significant number of automobiles and burned bikes can easily be seen in pictures near the accident area. Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa on the Atlantic Ocean.
