Russia: A mining accident in Siberia claims the lives of at least 52 individuals. RT

Russia, Serbia. (PNB NEWS). On Thursday, Russian broadcaster RT reported that 52 people died in a mining accident in Siberia.

At the time of the catastrophe, there were around 285 workers in the mine, with the bulk of them escaping.

The report further added that the mine blast left about 50 more individuals wounded in Kuzbass.

The Kuzbass, a region in southwestern Siberia, has some of the world’s largest coal reserves.

Authorities say every one of the 50 injured workers was carried to the medical facilities with wounds.

“As per the initial information, nobody is left alive in the mine,” TASS said.

A criminal investigation has been launched into a violation of industrial safety rules that resulted in a workers’ death.
