Turkey, (PNB NEWS). Turkish intelligence repelled an assassination attempt on Turkish President Erdogan, Turkish media announced on Saturday.
Sputnik said the bomb was placed in a private car transporting a cop to the Turkish President program in Siirt.
Siirt is the headquarters of Siirt Province in southeastern Turkey.
A colleague of the cop allegedly detected something under his auto, which was explosive.
The device was discovered during the assessment, which prompted further investigation and the assistance of a bomb crew.
The bomb squad had removed explosives safely. Fingerprints were inspected on the car and explosives by crime scene technicians, the report further said.
There has been no speculation, and it is unclear if there is a prime suspect.
