Several people are said to have been killed after a blast rocked a refugee camp near a Hamas depot in Lebanon
Hamas, (PNB NEWS). The blast hit Burj al-Shemali camp in Lebanon, several killed and wounded were reported on Friday.
The Burj Shemali camp is 3 kilometers from Tyre, Lebanon’s largest city.
It was founded in 1948 to provide tented accommodation for refugees arriving from Hawla, Tiberias, Saffuria, and Lubieh.
The camp also houses Palestinian refugees who have been displaced from other parts of Lebanon.
During the Israeli assault in 1982, it was seriously wrecked.
As per a Palestinian source inside the camp, 12 people were injured and an unknown number of people were killed following the explosion on Friday night.
The blast occurred at a presumed Hamas weapons warehouse in the Burj al-Shemali camp.
According to the state-run News Agency, a judge immediately pushed security forces to launch an investigation.
The explosion was triggered by the fire of oxygen canisters that had been kept for the COVID-19 pandemic, Shehab News Agency reported.
