A special session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will be held in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, on Sunday
OIC, (PNB NEWS). The seminar has been called to overcome the escalation humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
Ministers of Foreign Affairs and observers from the Member States will attend the “special” meeting.
The exceptional meeting is being held at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The US, UK, France, China, Russia, Germany, Italy, and Japan, EU Union have been invited.
As per the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Afghan delegation led by interim Foreign Minister Amir Muttaqi attend the meeting as well.
In addition to expressing sympathy with the Afghan people, the summit is anticipated to debate methods to slow and prevent the rapid deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
Food shortages, population dislocation, and the possibility of economic collapse will all be highlighted.
The 17th extraordinary session is a mirror of Pakistan’s steadfast commitment and constant efforts to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan.
