Ambala, India (PNB NEWS). A traffic accident on the Chandigarh Highway killed 5 passengers and injured 12 others.
A passenger bus slammed into two other buses in Ambala on Monday morning, causing the mishap.
5 people were killed on the spot while 12 others sustained injuries, police said.
The rest of the injured were ferried to an Ambala government hospital.
Ambala is a city and a city council in the province of Haryana’s Ambala district.
The city is lying on the Indian state of Punjab’s borderline.
As per witnesses, the bulk of people on the coach was sleeping when the accident took place in the morning.
Two of the coaches were severely damaged in the crash and had to be craned off the highway. As per cops, the three buses involved in the crash were private vehicles.
According to the cops, the driver of the infringing bus, which was traveling from J & K to Delhi, fled the scene.
The case has been filed against the unidentified driver, it further added in a statement.
