SINDH, Pakistan (PNB NEWS). At least 14 people died in Sindh’s Tando Allahyar and Tando Adam cities on Thursday after drinking cheaply produced whiskey, according to police.
In Tando Allahyar, seven more people died after drinking toxic alcohol, bringing the district’s death toll to nine.
As per Hyderabad Commissioner, 14 persons died as a result of alcohol intoxication, with 9 deaths reported in Tando Allahyar and 5 in Tando Adam.
The suspect, identified as Bachal Magsi, was arrested for allegedly producing a poisonous drink.
Victims’ families urged that police take action against the sale of poisoned liquor.
Sindh police have confiscated a large quantity of deadly liquor from Bachal Magsi after receiving complaints from victims’ families.
Sindh is one of Pakistan’s four provinces. It is situated in the country’s southeast.
