A fire caused by an explosion killed seven people, including two children in France

Europe, France (PNB NEWS). As many as 7 people including 2 kids were killed after a huge blast rocked the town of Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque. The incident took place at 1:15 a.m on Sunday.

A fire broke out shortly after the explosion, damaging 11 apartments, according to local media.

Emergency services found 7 victims of the incident from the rubble of the collapsed building portion on Monday morning.

About 90 rescuers responded to emergency rescue requests and rushed to the scene to transport bodies to hospitals.

Firefighters managed to save 29 people, four of whom were seriously injured.

The primary report said gas cylinders were discovered near the building where the blast occurred. According to investigators, the explosion could have been caused by gas cylinders.

Identities of deceased and injured individuals are yet to be brought out by the local authorities.
