Shell explains why it made the “difficult” decision to buy Russian crude oil 

Russia, (PNB NEWS). Shell acknowledged on Friday that it had purchased a cargo of Russian crude oil because it “had no other alternative.

“Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s foreign minister, blasted the energy company on Twitter, saying: “Russian oil doesn’t look like Ukrainian blood to you?

West has so far avoided imposing sanctions on Russian oil imports, knowing that doing so would drive up global energy costs.

After Saudi Arabia, Russia is the world’s second-largest crude oil producer, supplying almost a third of Europe’s needs.

The US is engaged in “serious talk” with Europe to ban Russian oil and ensure “sustainable global supplies,”.

Shell says it was forced to buy oil from Russia to deliver fuel to Europe on time. Putin said that Ukraine also has Ukrainian blood on its hands.

He claimed nearly 14,000 Donbas rebels have been killed by Ukrainian forces since 2014.
