UAE, (PNB NEWS). The UAE ship sank 30 miles from the Iranian port of Asluyeh, the IRNA news agency reported today.

Due to bad weather and storms in the Persian Gulf, the UAE cargo ship Al Salmi 6 capsized off the coast of Iran.

30 crew members were in the water, waiting to be rescued by the Iranian ship, according to the news agency.

The captain stated that 16 crew members were rescued by rescue teams.

The crew includes personnel from Sudan, India, Pakistan, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia, according to Captain Kaddura.

The ship was transporting vehicles and other cargo on its way to Umm Qasr in Iraq, according to the report.

Freight ships deliver cargo and energy exports from the oil-rich region across the Persian Gulf, and that is a significant trading route.
