Arab gunmen killed two police officers in Israel
Two Arab gunmen shot and killed two police officers on a lane avenue in an Israeli town on Sunday, just as the US secretary of state and three Arab foreign ministers arrived for a summit.
In a message released on its Telegram channel, Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
The two assailants in Hadera, a village approximately 50 kilometers north of Tel Aviv, were Israeli Arab citizens and ISIS sympathizers, according to Israeli security officials.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted, “We condemn today’s terrorist incident in Hadera, Israel.”
“We stand with our Israeli allies and extend our sympathies to the victims’ families,” Antony Blinken continued.
Five days before the attack, an Arab from southern Israel killed at least five people.
