45 people die in a Tribal feud in Darfur, Sudan
Tribal Feud, (PNB NEWS). At least 45 people were killed in clashes between rival groups in Sudan’s Darfur on Thursday, govt official said. Ethnic violence is raging, according to the tribal chiefs.
Witnesses said fresh violence erupted on Tuesday between the Falata ethnic people from Africa and a tribe in villages outside Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state.
“15 people were killed on Tuesday in fighting between the Fallata and Rizeigat tribes, and 30 were killed on Wednesday,” the local government body, said in a statement.
Women and children were among the victims of the conflict, according to the source.
Tribal leaders from Fallata and Rizeigat told AFP that fighting was still going on as of Thursday.
According to a rescue team, up to 20 injured, some of whom were in critical condition, were transported to nearby hospitals.
