Colombia, (PNB NEWS). At least 10 people were killed in rainstorms in Colombia’s Antioquia province on Thursday, local authorities said.
It further said that 17 more people were either missing or injured. The flooding happened late night Wednesday.
The state government has begun rescue operations in flood-affected areas in order to protect residents from further damages.
Heavy downpours in Antioquia’s Abriaqui municipality flooded a camp and part of the mining operation, as per the provincial disaster management agency DAGRAN.
Floods are common during Colombia’s rainy season. Landslides are also common due to the country’s mountainous geography and substandard housing.
