Yemen – Yemen’s Abdrabbuh president, Mansur Hadi, has resigned. He was Yemen’s President from 2012 to 2022, he resigned and founded the President’s Committee, which was managed by former Interior Minister Rashad al-Alimi.
He was a Former Marshal of the Yemeni Armed Forces as well.
Yemen, (PNB NEWS). Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, Yemen’s president, announced his resignation and the formation of a presidential leadership council on Thursday.
According to Al Jazeera, Saudi Arabia has pressed Hadi to begin talks with the Ansarullah Movement in Yemen to end the country’s devastating war.
Hadi has fired his deputy and delegated control of his administration to a presidential leadership council.
On Thursday a new body would take over the duties of the president and his deputy, he further said.
“I delegate complete power to the presidential governing council,” Hadi said in a televised address broadcast Thursday morning, the final day of peace talks in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Rashad Mohammad Al-Alimi, according to the report, would lead the president’s governing council. Meanwhile, Yemen’s departing president is said to have sacked his deputy, Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar.
Negotiating a truce with the Ansarullah movement is the responsibility of the Presidential Leadership Council. Previously, some sources claimed that Saudi Arabia had ousted Mansoor Hadi.
