Mashhad Stabbing Attack Death Toll Rises to Two

Mashhad, (PNB NEWS). A second cleric died after he was stabbed in Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad city on Tuesday.

The death toll from the stabbing has risen to 2 after another cleric died on Thursday in Mashhad hospital. 

As per reports, the victim, Daraei, was being treated in an intensive care unit at a local hospital.

He was one of three clerics attacked by a 21-year-old attacker at Iran’s most highly regarded shrine on Tuesday.

One of them, Mohammad Aslani, died on the scene after being struck numerous times by the foreign aggressor.

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Afghanistan’s former chief executive, also issued a statement urging the incident as a “cowardly terrorist attack.”

He stated that some elements attempted to attribute the perpetrator’s identity to Afghanistan, adding that Afghans are ardent supporters of peace and coexistence with themselves and others.

The event was also sharply denounced by Afghani scholars based in Iran.

The assailant, a 21-year-old man, was not one of them, according to the Afghani scholars in Iran.
