Iran’s Foreign Minister says some of the country’s frozen foreign assets will be released soon
Iran, (PNB NEWS). The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson confirmed the news of the imminent release of Iran’s frozen funds abroad, saying that a delegation related to the issue will visit Tehran next week.
When asked about the release of Iran’s frozen assets in foreign banks, Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed the news and stated that a portion of Iran’s funds would be released soon.
A high-level delegation will travel to Tehran by the end of the week, according to an Iranian senior diplomat.
Various newspaper media reported on Thursday that $7 billion of Iran’s frozen funds abroad would be released via banking transactions into Iran’s accounts.
South Korean Deputy Choi Jong-Kun met with Iranian high-level diplomat Ali Bagheri in January at the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Embassy in Vienna.
In reference to the frozen Iranian assets in South Korea, he stated that South Korea was committed to repaying its debts to Iran.
Chong Geun had also met and spoke with key negotiators from the United States and other JCPOA signatory countries in January 2022 in Vienna.
At the request of the Korean side, Chong Geun spoke about the significance of Korea-Tehran relations.
