In Turkey, four passengers were killed and 23 were injured in a road mishap involving illegal migrants
Turkey, (PNB NEWS). According to Daily Sabah news, 4 people were killed and more than 23 injured after a van conveying migrants crashed in eastern Turkey on Monday after trying to avoid security personnel.
According to local media claims, the van was designed to seat 12 people, but it was filled with 26 illegal migrants.
The road mishap took place in the Adilsewaz area near Bitlis, and the migrants’ whereabouts are unclear.
Two suspects who had been riding with the van, apparently as an escort, were arrested.
The injured passengers, as well as the van’s driver, have been transported to a hospital.
The names of those who died and were injured have yet to be revealed by the local authorities.
Daily Sabah further reported that eastern Turkey has seen a rise in illegal migration from Iran and Afghanistan.
The Turkish govt is building 125 miles long border wall with trenches. There are about 190,000 Afghan migrants in the country.
