Eight children killed in accident in Egypt’s Nile Delta
Egypt, (PNB NEWS). A 3- wheeled vehicle overturned and drowned in an irrigation canal in Egypt’s Nile Delta on Saturday, killing at least eight children.
The accident occurred in the Mediterranean province of Beheira, in the city of Itay El Baroud.
The children were mill workers in the city, which is about 140 km north of Cairo, according to a police statement.
A tricycle carrying at least 13 persons plunged into a canal and sank on Saturday morning.

Rescue teams recovered the bodies of eight children aged 12 to 15, according to health officials. At least four other people survived, and rescuers were looking for one more.
Prosecutors launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
Traffic accidents are common in Egypt, where roads are frequently overlooked and restrictions are poorly enforced.
