An alleged militia attack in eastern Congo has left dozens dead
Congo, (PNB NEWS). Militants ambushed a mining site outside Monvalu, Ituri province, on Sunday, killing dozens of people and leaving many more missing.
Army spokesman Jules Ngongo Tsikudi confirmed the devastating attack on a mining camp near Mongwalu but did not release the death toll.
“We will know the exact number of deaths in the next few hours,” the official said.
“The army is working day and night to wipe out all the armed groups in Ituri province,” Tsikudi said.
According to a local NGOS’, between 30 and 50 people have been killed.
There was no immediate release of identical information regarding the deceased.
