Murree: Snowfall Jams Transport In Pakistan, Killing Scores
Pakistan, Murree (PNB NEWS). According to the govt officials, severe snowfall killed at least 22 individuals in their cars during a perilous voyage to Murree on Saturday.
The incident happened while thousands of holidaymakers' flocks were heading to the mountain town of Muri.
Muri, a mountain tourist hotspot in Pakistan's Rawalpindi District, is located in the Galyat region of the Pir Panjal Range.
Eight of those killed were members of the same family. Over 100,000 cars drove into Murree, a hill station 38 km from Islamabad, in the last few days to enjoy the snowfall.
Heavy snowfall has poured in the last 24 hours, and due to heavy traffic, all routes leading to the hilltown have been closed, leaving thousands of vehicles stuck.
