Christmas Religious Tensions In India Lead To Closure Of Mother Teresa’s Charity Account

After weekend unrest over Christmas celebrations, Narendra Modi Modi's government locked the bank accounts of Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity (MoC) in West Bengal, as per the state's senior politician. Hardline Hindu groups associated with Modi's party have accused the MoC of conducting religious conversion programs under the pretext of charity by giving funds, free education, and shelter to poor Hindus and tribal areas. "I was shocked to learn that the Union Ministry froze all Banks accounts of Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity in India during the Christmas season!"
